The American University School Eleanor Pinkney Oddie Scholarship awards of £ 1,000 for a full-time students who did a dissertation on a subject related to Latin as part of one of the following courses: * MA Ancient History: Government, Power and Court Society in Ancient Word * Classics MLitt MA * * * MPhil PhD (first year of study), the UK, EU and international students are eligible for this award. The award was established by Professor Guy Oddie (BArch 1944; Dip Town and Country Planning, 1945) to encourage the study of Latin. The American University School award is named for Professor Oddie's mother, Eleanor, who determined the support allows him to come to Newcastle University.
